Madhubani painting is a style practiced in the Mithila region of Nepal and in the Indian state of Bihar. The art form focusses heavily on the two great epics of the Ramayan and the Mahabharat, recreating stories through bright colours and vibrant designs.
Beauty can be most often spotted in nature, and one of its most vibrant examples is the peacock. Many Indian art forms use the motif of this bird to border their paintings. However, in Madhubani the peacock holds central focus, as in this hand-painted glass lamp. Along with that, the lamp combines art with utility, as this particular lamp is foldable.
The lamp is a wonderful addition to any room, matching with almost any colour scheme. It brightens any room it has been placed in.
