The Warli tribe of Maharashtra specializes in wall art, encapsulating their day-to-day life. They also put importance on celebrating the joy of life, which is depicted in the central painting of the jatra, and the Ferris wheel in the frame.
Dokra, locally known as “Bharai kaam”, is the art of sculpting brass with the ancient technique of wax casting. The metal is cast into crafted molds, which the tribals create themselves, in their furnaces, and with their specialized tools. Practiced in West Bengal, Orissa, and Madhya Pradesh, this metal craft finds different forms of expression, each art form uniquely different in style and manifestation from the others.
Both styles are combined here into a base of utility, as simple as being a wall frame. Along with that, we aspire to adorn your wall with art, to accentuate your life with color.
