The Gond tribals originally come from Central India. They love to pour their exuberance for life into their art, in which they use bright colours, and a distinct lack of boundaries is abundant. Dokra, locally known as “Bharaikaam”, is the art of sculpting brass with the ancient technique of wax casting. The metal is cast into crafted moulds, which the tribals create themselves, in their furnaces and with their specialized tools. Practiced in West Bengal, Orissa and Madhya Pradesh, this metal craft finds different forms of expressions, each art form uniquely different in style and manifestation from the others. Both styles are combined here in to a base of utility, as simple as being a wall frame. Along with that, we aspire to adorn your wall with art, to accentuate your life with colour.
