Phad painting is a traditional form of scroll painting that originates from Rajasthan, India. It is typically done on a long piece of cloth or canvas, known as “phad,” which is used to depict epic narratives, usually stories of local deities like Pabuji and Devnarayan.
Dokra, locally known as ?Bharaikaam?, is the art of sculpting brass with the ancient technique of wax casting. The metal is cast into crafted moulds, which the tribals create themselves, in their furnaces and with their specialized tools. Practiced in West Bengal, Orissa and Madhya Pradesh, this metal craft finds different forms of expressions, each art form uniquely different in style and manifestation from the others.
