Katha (story behind artefact): The lamp’s light is a symbol of inspiration, of new ideas that can change your future or add in perspectives not thought of before. The Madhubani elephant further amplifies this inspiration by representing age-old wisdom and thought processes that have endured the tests of time. This unique juxtaposition of accepting the new while keeping in mind the old is perfectly constituted in this lamp, which can be placed anywhere in your space to help you discover a fresh outlook!
Riti (method): The Madhubani art form began with women painting the walls of their homes, infusing positive energy and a sense of community into their personal spaces. Now, Madhubani motifs can be found on a range of artefacts, bringing the same energy into more contemporary forms. The lamp’s panes are stained-glass, which is an art form that IndiHands has perfected in-house, with our artisans having 15+ years of experience. The vibrant semi-transparent colours are beautifully lined by solid lining, creating a beautiful confluence of the liner’s ebb and the colour’s flow.
